Custom Creative Special-Effect custom finish Flakes are precision cut resin coated chips for adding intense sparkle to custom paint jobs.

Small Flakes (.004) size can be sprayed through most large size tip airbrushes, as well as HVLP full and detail sized spray gun equipment with a 1.0 nozzle set-up or larger. These Flakes lay down much flatter than larger flakes so it’s easier to finish with clear lacquer.

Medium Flakes (.008) has a sparkling brilliance that is easy to use. These flakes can be sprayed out of HVLP and conventional spray equipment with a minimum of 1.5 nozzle set-up or larger.

Large Flakes (.015) has double the amount of sparkling brilliance of the .008 flakes and have been used in the custom market for many years. These flakes can be sprayed out of HVLP and conventional spray equipment with a minimum of 1.8 nozzle set-up or larger.

Extra Large Flake (.025) is an extreme size flake and gives an extreme amount of sparkle. These flakes can be sprayed out of HVLP and conventional spray equipment with a minimum of 2.2 nozzle set-up or larger.

Note:
Always spray a test panel to insure the desired look. Lighter base colors will require more material.

• 10 grams (roughly one tablespoon) per ready to spray litre and up to 100 grams for a heavy flake appearance.
• Allow to flash, approximately 10-15 minutes between coats.
• Allow final coat to flash 30 minutes before applying top coat.
• Note: Use of larger fluid tip/nozzle sizes while applying Flakes will allow for the flakes to lay flatter on the surface, resulting in less clear needed to cover the flake.
